Now a sophomore at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Ashley has been a member of our NYAB since 2007 and is now a member of the Board of Directors for Souper Bowl of Caring.
Once accepted on the NYAB, Ashley began raising thousands of dollars and cans for people in need in her area and building relationships with soup kitchens and homeless shelters. She shared her knowledge of the local hunger issue through newspaper articles, radio and television interviews.
"Thanks to Souper Bowl of Caring and my position on NYAB, I have found what I am called to do," she says. "Once you open your eyes and see that there are people in need in your own community, that's where the helping starts. No matter what age you are, where you come from, what you do and don't have, anyone can make a difference."
