Residents in Houston, Austin and North Texas may purchase bags of food at participating area grocery stores to donate to area food banks. This year's goal is to collect enough food to provide 4 million meals to the hungry and hurting in South Texas while North Texas hopes to collect $1.2 million in food and cash, which will provide 3.6 million meals.
The kick offs received great local news coverage, with live reports on morning news shows and articles in area newspapers. Thanks to everyone who has helped make these kick off events such a success.
