Souper Bowl of Caring was honored to be a part of the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) Middle Level State Annual Conference held in San Marcos, November 2-3rd, 2012. North Texas Director, Cristina Curtis Barbe and South Texas Director, Jacqueline Ross had the opportunity to share stories of collection, donation and service through SBoC; distributed new registration materials for the 2013 campaign; and had the opportunity to speak to hundreds of students about the ways young people are uniting across the nation to tackle hunger in their local communities.
Activities included sessions on leadership, making a difference through community service and of course some fun. Students had a chance to see a movie, enjoy a dance and showed their school spirit through customized t-shirts including football jerseys and one school's memorable t-shirt which had a modified quote from Robert Fulghum , "We could all learn a lesson from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull and they all have different colors but they have to live in the same box." At Souper Bowl of Caring we can all work together to make a positive difference in the lives of others and make this world a more beautiful place.
