Without your help we would not have been able to collect over $7.46 million in cash and food items for hunger-relief agencies across the United States. We wanted to take some time to thank some particularly "souper" groups that participated in 2013!
Through the stories you shared on our website, we have found some incredible groups:
The Edwards Memorial ARP Church in Cayce, SC celebrated its 10th year of giving for Souper Bowl of Caring. Over the last 10 years, they have collected and donated $1,324 and 525 food items for God's Helping Hands, which is an organization that assists people living in Cayce and the West Columbia area who are in need of food, clothing and financial assistance.
Reverend Amanda McEvilly with Community Congregational Church, UCC reported that her congregation had a "Historic Year" because they exceeded their goal of raising 2,013 in 2013! This Villa Park, IL congregation ended with a grand total of 2,703 in donations, which were donated to two hunger and poverty relief agencies in Lombard, IL.
HUMC-Christian Life Club in Hillsboro, KS reported that they had 17 volunteers at the local food bank. They graciously served the 60 people who came to the Main Street Food Bank on Saturday, February 2nd. On the 3rd, the Kids Club hosted a Souper Bowl party, where they held a Souper Bowl of Caring quiz and drew winners for raffle prizes. These prizes included a Souper Bowl of Caring bag filled with goodies for the NFL Super Bowl game. In addition to their service blitz and Souper Bowl party, they also donated $440.50 and 155 pounds of food to the Main Street Food Bank.
Although these are only three of the many "souper" groups that participate each year, we just want you to know that we are reading your stories. We are extremely grateful for your energy and participation. Thank you so much for everything you do in helping to make our mission and vision come true.
Wishing You A Merry Christmas!Posted Dec 22nd 2016 8amNo matter what role you play in Souper Bowl of Caring, we are thankful for you. Wishing you peace and joy this Christmas!
