Please join us in welcoming Debbie Summers to our team as the new South Carolina Field Director.
Debbie has lived her entire life in the Midlands of South Carolina, where she attended the University of South Carolina. Her volunteer efforts began some 32 years ago when she became a Girl Scout leader. Other community organizations she has volunteered with are Boy Scouts, several clubs and committees with Lexington School District Two as well as the Airport HS Educational Foundation. She has served on the Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce Board and the Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties, as well as the Lexington Medical Center Board of Directors.
Currently she is serving on the River Alliance Board, Lexington Richland Alcohol Drug Abuse Council, LMC Foundation - Women of Hope Executive Committee, Capital City Lake Murray Country Board, Central Midlands Rural Transit Authority and Central Midlands Council of Governments. Debbie was elected in 2004 to serve on Lexington County Council, where she has served as Chairman and Vice-Chairman. Debbie has chaired numerous County committees and has served on the Economic Development Committee for 8 years.
Before coming to Souper Bowl of Caring, Debbie was Donor Relations Manager at Harvest Hope Food Bank. When not working, she loves spending time with her family, including 4 awesome grandsons! She is excited to be part of the Souper Bowl of Caring team and looks forward to great accomplishments with the Columbia Local Youth Advisory Board.
Souper Bowl of Caring is honored to bring on Debbie as the new South Carolina Field Director. We are really looking forward to seeing Souper Bowl of Caring continue to grow in the area where it was founded.
