How did you hear of Souper Bowl of Caring?As a fundraiser that the A.M.E. Church support. Each church had a task to raise money or do something to help an organization so we decided to support Souper Bowl of Caring and also sent money to help build a drinking well for Haiti.
Why did you choose to join the Souper Bowl of Caring team?Our department is under the branch of our Missionary Society and to give back is what we believe any little help can go a long way.
What does your group do to participate in the Souper Bowl of Caring movement?We sacrifice something that we really do not need for a certain period of time and donate the funds to this cause and ask our elders in the church for donations as well to help.
What have you found is most successful for raising cash and food items?We sacrifice something that we really do not need for a certain period of time and donate the funds to this cause and ask our elders in the church for donations as well to help.
Was there any particularly meaningful or moving story from your collection you would like to share?As the children thought about how not buy that extra candy bar or drink at lunch they help someone that was not as fortunate as we are.
Tell us a little about where you donate your collection to.We donated to help fund a drinking well in Haiti.
Are there any resources you feel Souper Bowl of Caring could develop to enhance your collection?No I feel comfortable with the Souper Bowl of Caring collection and I am excited for the upcoming year.
What does participating in Souper Bowl of Caring mean to your group?Knowing that we helped someone that is some age that is going through something that we may never experience makes us proud and we did not even notice it as a lose but and win for someone less fortunate.
What does it mean to you?It shows me that the children in my department have caring hearts and really appreciate their lives because they all were excited to help.
