Souper Bowl WorshipThe youth performed the following skit written by Pastor Dave Haven.
Souper Bowl Worship
PROPS: Flashlights, offering plates, football, kettles, bowls, clock, coins, bags of snacks, hotdish
Characters: Narrator, Flashers, Cheerleaders, Referee, Clangers, Snackers, Multitudes
Narrator: Good morning and welcome to Souper Bowl Sunday. In order to better understand this day, we would like you to become familiar with some important terminology.
DISCIPLESHIP: NOT A SPECTATOR SPORTFAN 2: Well, that settles it! I vote we all go down on the field and play the game of helping our neighbor, instead of kicking the can (I mean football) down the road, hoping someone else will do what we're called to do.
FAN3: Yeah, after all, discipleship is not a spectator sport!
BeastmodeThis skit was performed during worship on the day of the actual Super Bowl in which the Seattle Seahawks were participants. The congregation, mostly Seahawk's fans were fully aware of all the subtle inuendos and were able to "read between the lines."
