How did you hear of Souper Bowl of Caring? We have been collecting for Souper Bowl of Caring for many years. When the previous director stepped down I just took over. So not really sure how we originally found out about it.
Why did you choose to join the Souper Bowl of Caring team?We want to help collect money and food for our mission project and the girls earn a patch for collecting on that day.
What does your group do to participate in the Souper Bowl of Caring movement? We make signs, advertise in our worship folder, and on the big screen.
What have you found is most successful for raising cash and food items?Promoting the event several weeks in advance.
Tell us a little about where you donate your collection to.Our church contributes to many different mission projects but our main focus is the Missions Center of Houston.
Are there any resources you feel Souper Bowl of Caring could develop to enhance your collection?Maybe some sort of posters that we could hang up to promote.
What does participating in Souper Bowl of Caring mean to your group? Our mission statement is participating in the work of the church and this is one way that shows the girls this and shows them that giving to others is rewarding. We set a goal of 5,000 this past year and we prayed for this and we were able to accomplish this goal and I believe that this showed the girls that God does answer prayers.
What does it mean to you?It is rewarding to work for a goal and to be able to accomplish that goal and give to an organization that you feel for and have a heart for.
