Heritage Presbyterian Church loves the Souper Bowl of Caring. Each year, our 'Tween youth group (grades 4th-6th) coordinates this mission. Our children collect cans of soup AND encourage monetary donations. To inspire the donations, our 'Tweens typically gather the day before the Souper Bowl, and cook 125 quarts of homemade chili, which is then made available to the congregation for their donation. This year, the pandemic did not deter this group of mission-hearted kids! We gathered on ZOOM to cook together, each in our own homes, and then made home-deliveries to our congregation members. A win-win for all! Our local food pantry benefitted from generous donations, and our quarantined church members had the opportunity for short in-person visits with our children. God was praised in a multitude of ways!
